chrono and sequence stratigraphy

Sequence stratigraphy has become an important technique to understanding basins. The recognition of sequences leads to a better understanding of facies distribution which in turn leads to more accurate basin models, making the prediction of criteria required for hydrocarbon system elements, such as reservoir, seal, source, and migration pathway, more realistic and dependable.

Integration of quantitative biodata, detailed seismic interpretation, well log characters and lithologic description to enable recognition of sequence stratigraphy system tracts, marine flooding surface (mfs) and sequence boundarise.
